Dr. Edward Juhn is a Regional Medical Director at nonprofit health plan Blue Shield of California.  He works to effectively deliver high quality and affordable care with medical groups, independent practice organizations, hospitals, and employers.  In addition, Dr. Juhn serves as Blue Shield’s Medical Director of Care Innovation and Transformation to help identify, assess and implement innovation opportunities involving big data and analytics, technology-enabled service offerings, and other emerging trends to improve health outcomes, quality, affordability and experience.  He is also driving the company’s Technically Enabled Provider Partnerships Advisory Committee comprised of key stakeholders across the state. 

Prior to joining Blue Shield of California, he was a clinical scientist at Lumiata, an Intel funded company, and focused on developing predictive clinical algorithms with financial and operational impact.  Before this, Dr. Juhn served as the Chief of Healthcare Innovation and Strategy at Premier HealthCare, the medical arm of YAI, and drove Patient-Centered Medical Home remote patient monitoring strategies while helping launch the first Accountable Care Organization in the country for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. 

Dr. Juhn earned his BA and MD from George Washington University, his executive MBA from NYU Stern School of Business, and his MPH from Johns Hopkins University.  He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, a fellow of the American College of Physicians, and served on faculty at the Stanford School of Medicine.
